75,000 kalash of sacred soil to reach Delhi, including 242 from Haryana for Amrit Vatika - CM

Chandigarh (KK) - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal said that the Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, spanning from 2022 to 2047, is aimed at nurturing a sense of patriotism among the youth. During Amrit Kaal, we remember and pay homage to the countless valiant martyrs who fought for the nation's freedom. Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi is working diligently to realize the dream that these people had held after India gained independence.  After the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the program ‘Meri Mati-Mera Desh’ is now awakening the patriotic spirit among our youth.

Chief Minister was addressing the people at the state-level ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ event held in Rohtak today. On this occasion, he also administered the Pancha-Pran oath to the people, which will become an integral part of our lives. The Chief Minister also recited the words of the renowned poet, saying, "Aao Bacchon Tumhe Dikhayen Jhanki Hindustan Ki, Is Maati  Se Tilak Karno Ye Dharti  Hai Balidan Ki."

Amrit Vatika to be built to commemorate Amrit Kaal

He said that today, dedicated volunteers have gathered sacred soil from across Haryana, collecting it in 242 Kalash, and these will be transported to Delhi on October 29. As many as 75,000 Kalash from all corners of the country will arrive in Delhi, carrying this sacred soil, which will be utilized in the creation of Amrit Vatika as a memorial of the Amrit Kaal. This soil will also be incorporated into the trees along the Kartavaya Path, symbolizing the unity and integrity of the nation. He said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi initiated this sacred campaign with the intention of nurturing a sense of patriotism among the youth.

PM Modi to lead oath for volunteers in Delhi

Shri Manohar Lal stated that when this sacred soil, collected from approximately 7 lakh villages and cities across the country, reaches Delhi, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi will personally lead the oath-taking ceremony for all the volunteers. He said that when the spirit of patriotism is kindled within our youth, our strength as a nation will remain unassailable.

India emerged as the fifth-largest economic power in the world

He said that today India stands as the fifth-largest economic power globally. In 1947, when the country gained independence, there was a renewed sense of zeal and enthusiasm among the people. In terms of development, we have made significant progress, reaching the moon and achieving self-reliance in various sectors. Despite Haryana's population accounting for only two percent of the country's population, the state's youth exhibit a remarkable spirit of service to the nation, with an approximately 11 percent participation rate in the armed forces.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the love for the nation's soil is deeply ingrained in everyone. Farmers seek forgiveness from Mother Earth before plowing, wrestlers apply a tilak of soil before entering the akhara, and each person salutes Mother Earth as they begin their day.

Haryana remains top choice for Global and domestic investors

Sh Manohar Lal said that today, Haryana has made significant progress in every field, including the economy and industry. The state has created an environment where investors from across the country and the world are eager to invest in Haryana. Moreover, when it comes to medals won by athletes in the country, players from Haryana alone contribute to 40 percent of the total medals.

Sacred soil represents our history, self-respect, and pride – Dr Kamal Gupta

Speaking on this occasion, Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta emphasized the significance of our country's soil, which he regarded as greater than heaven. He referred to Swami Vivekananda's profound love and attachment to this soil, evident in his act of embracing it upon his return from abroad. This soil, he said, represents our history, self-respect, and pride. He credited the success of this campaign to Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and the dedicated efforts of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal. Both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have recognized the greatness of this sacred soil, and this program is being organized in that context. He added that through these kalashs, the sacred soil collected from all over Haryana will now be taken to Delhi.

Development and Panchayat Minister Sh Devender Babli highlighted the remarkable contributions of state players and wrestlers who have brought immense glory to the nation worldwide. He also stated that one in ten soldiers in the army hails from Haryana. Our hardworking farmers are effectively cultivating valuable crops on this very soil. Extending a warm welcome to the volunteers who arrived with kalash from every corner of the state, the Minister expressed that during the Amrit Mahotsav, around two lakh programs were organized throughout the country. This has provided a unique opportunity for the youth to gain knowledge about the great personalities of our nation.

Welcoming the Chief Minister, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General of Information, Public Relations, and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal said that this program is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the entire country. He congratulated the dedicated volunteers who brought the sacred soil from every corner of the state, noting that the nation is commemorating 75 years of independence. Over the past year, the state has been consistently organizing programs in celebration of this significant milestone, and the people of Haryana have embraced Amritkaal with full zeal. Dr. Agarwal underlined the unifying power of our country's soil, explaining that our farmers produce food, our soldiers protect the nation with a tilak of soil, and our wrestlers bring glory to the country by competing on this soil. The soil collected from every corner of the state will be transported to Delhi through these Kalash, where it will be utilized in the construction of Amrit Vatika, he added.

On this occasion, MP Sh Arvind Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Sh Ramchander Jangra, former minister Sh Manish Grover and other dignitaries were also present.
