Chandigarh (KK)- In Haryana, the second phase of the block-level quiz competition on road safety is set to take place on October 27. A total of one lakh 972 students from across the state will participate, with oversight from senior officers of the State Police Department to ensure the successful conduct of the competition.

Haryana Director General of Police, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur stated that the objective of this competition, scheduled for October 27, is to raise awareness about road safety among the general public, through children. He pointed out that in the 2016-17 competition, more than 44 lakh students participated, and got their names registered in the Limca Book of World Records.

The competition has divided students into three categories: the first category includes students from classes 1 to 5, the second category encompasses students from classes 6 to 8, and the third category involves students from classes 9 to 12. Each category has received road safety study materials tailored to their age and educational level, ensuring they understand road safety facts effectively, he added.

Inspector General of Traffic, Sh. Hardeep Doon said that nodal officers have been appointed in all districts for the road safety quiz competition. Additionally, question papers for the competition have already been dispatched to all districts. Senior police officers, including IGs and SPs, will visit schools to oversee the process. The competition will conclude with the submission of 'answer keys' approximately one hour after the event.

Notably, the preliminary round of this competition was held at the school level on October 13th, with over 42 lakh students participating and spreading the message of road safety. After the sectional level, the competition will continue at the district, range, and state levels.
